The seventh annual Banbury Art Crawl will start its two-day run at 4 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 5) in Buildings 10 and 13 at Banbury Place.
The event will run from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Parking is available off of either Wisconsin Street or Galloway Street.
Barbara Shafer, a resident artist/painter at Banbury Place, said the Art Crawl “will be a great place to get some mid-winter exercise while browsing over the work of 80 artists and artisans, grabbing something to eat and watching a variety of artist demonstrations and dance.”
In addition to food and music, the Art Crawl will feature paintings, woodworking, pottery, weaving, sculpture, stained glass, jewelry, mixed media, photography and fabric art.
This event began when the late Laurie Bieze, a stained glass artist whose studio was in Banbury Place, wanted to share the dynamic and exciting things going on in Building 13. She gathered several other resident artists and organized the first Art Crawl.
Sponsors of this year’s event include Just Local Food, Banbury Place, Cigan Properties, the Eau Claire Regional Arts State Theater and Janet Carson Gallery, Volume One and the Local Store, Gordy’s Supermarkets. Riverwood Art and Frame, Terry Meyer Fine Art, Satellite Six, the Leader Telegram, WHYS Community Radio and DigiCOPY Eau Claire. Jo Ellen Burke chairs this year’s organizing committee.
