Eau Claire’s L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library will be closed until at least April 6, according to a press release from Library Director Pamela Westby.
The decision to close was made at an emergency meeting of the Library Board Monday evening, in response to concerns regarding the COVID-19 coronavirus. It came just three days after Westby announced on Friday that the library would remain open but would suspend all programs, events, meeting room bookings and outreach services.
Library book drops will also be closed, but the library’s digital services will remain available, Westby said.
