A non-partisan guide aimed at helping first-time voters navigate their first trip to the polls next month is available online and can be accessed through the Chippewa Valley Post website.
The guide was written by Paula M. Poindexter, a professor of journalism at the University of Texas, who said in an email that no outside organizations or individuals provided financial support for it. Today is national News Engagement Day (NED), which offers opportunities to get involved with the news media and to learn more about them.
It is a day when people nationwide are encouraged to use or react to the news media and to learn more about news reporting principles and processes. Locally, NED is the first day to submit entries in the essay and visual works contests that are part of Eau Claire’s “Beyond the Headlines” (BTH) programming.
