Lydia Boerboom became the youngest woman ever to serve on the Eau Claire County Board when she was sworn into office last Tuesday at the county courthouse..
The political novice was one of eight newcomers to the board who took office at its first meeting since the April 3 election. Boerboom, 21, captured the District 16 seat by defeating David Mortimer, a 53-year-old incumbent, by a 243-149 margin.
