Reservations are open for this year’s “Caring for the Caregiver” workshop to be held on Friday, May 1 at Sacred Heart hospital, 900 W. Clairemont Ave.
The annual event is designed to inform and inspire both individual family and professional caregivers. It is scheduled to run from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the hospital’s Community Auditorium.
Two workshops are on the program. Amy Segerstrom of The Healing Place will lead one, on the gift of gratitude. The second, on how to “Be a Beacon of Happee,” will be led by Rachel Funk-Johnson, founder of the Happee School. A light buffet lunch is included in the registration cost of $5 plus a non-perishable food item, and space may be reserved by calling 715-717-1600
Home Instead Senior Care will provide a professional caregiver on-site or in the home for registered attendees, at no cost for this event. However, this must be arranged in advance by calling (715) 552-8040 to coordinate the caregiver.
The workshop is sponsored by Sacred Heart and St. Joseph’s hospitals, which both are affiliates of the Hospital Sisters Health System, one of the nation’s largest Catholic health care systems.
