Eau Claire Healthy Communities’ (ECHC) annual celebration will be held this evening (Thursday, April 27) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Chippewa Valley Technical College Business Education Center, 620 W. Clairemont Ave. in Eau Claire.
The public is invited to attend and join in celebrating ECHC’s achievements in regard to health priorities.
ECHC’s Champion Awards will be presented to recognize both an individual and an organization for extraordinary efforts to promote healthy living in the community. There will also be an Award of excellence in memory of a local community organizer.
The awards will be presented around 5:45 p.m.
There will also be training opportunities for attendees, on how to use stories as a tool for building healthier communities.
Eau Claire Healthy Communities focuses on chronic disease prevention, promotion of healthy relationships, preventing high risk drinking, mental health and the promotion of oral health, in collaboration with well over 50 partner organizations. ECHC expects more than 75 people to attend tonight’s event, including community members, legislators and its own members.
