On Nov. 9, the “Writers Read” series will continue with a session in honor of the 200th anniversary this year of Henry David Thoreau’s birth. Local writers can sign up to share original poetry or short prose pieces that relate in some way to Thoreau’s famous chapter in Walden entitled “Where I Lived, and What I Lived for.”
The program is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Eau Claire room on the Library’s lower level. Sign-up starts at 5:45 p.m. Presentations should be limited to five minutes or less. Listeners are welcome at the session.
“Writers Read” is a monthly Library presentation organized by Max Garland, Eau Claire’s Writer-in-Residence and former Wisconsin Poet Laureate. It features original poetry and prose written by writers who live or work in the Chippewa Valley.
