Winter reading programs – which can lead to prizes for participants who reach specified goals – will start next Tuesday (Jan. 2) at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire.
The “Curl Up and Read” programs will run from Jan. 2 through Feb. 28. There will be separate programs for adults, families and teens.
Adults can read or listen to any three books and write one short book review to fill out a bookmark. All completed bookmarks will be eligible to win books or other prizes at the end of the program.
Bookmarks must be returned to the library no later than Feb. 28. There is no limit on how many bookmarks may be filled out during the program, and readers may register any time during the program, starting on Tuesday.
Online registration can be completed at www.ecpubliclibrary.info/events. Prize drawings will be held Mar. 7, 2018.
Families may stop by the Youth Services area to pick up a game card, and must fill it by completing a variety of reading plus indoor and outdoor winter activities. Each family that completes a game card will win a cloth book bag while supplies last, and will also be entered in a prize drawing.
Teens in grades 6–12 may pick up a reading activity card in the Young Adult Lounge. Each activity card completed will be an entry to win prizes. Teens may complete one card per week and drop them off in the Young Adult Lounge any time during the program.
