The 27th Annual “Senior Americans Day” will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 2 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s W.R. Davies Center.
Community members who are 55 and older are invited to choose from more than 30 inspiring breakout sessions in which they can learn about local history, cultural diversity, health and wellness, and creativity. Free health screenings and a complimentary lunch also will be offered.
Kari Berit, a national speaker, author and coach, will open the event with an address titled “Forget Less, Remember More.”
The cost for the day is $45 per person, with a $5 discount for those who register online. The cost includes instruction, handouts, a continental breakfast, lunch, entertainment and refreshments.
Senior Americans Day is sponsored by UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education and UW-Extension, in cooperation with St. Francis Apartments, the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Eau Claire County, The Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation, Grace Lutheran Foundation and several other sponsors. The event is being planned by community representatives committed to the interests of older adults.
