Parts of four county highways remained closed on Saturday due to high water and damage to the roadways, according to a press release from the Eau Claire County Highway department.
Two previously closed highway sections were opened on Saturday. They were Highway H between Horse Creek Road and Forest Road 3 in the town of Bridge Creek, and Highway D from 140th Avenue to Stelter Road in the towns of Ludington and Lincoln.
Two other county roads — both in the town of Seymour — still have partial lane closures that restrict traffic to a single direction.
The four county roads that remain totally closed are Highway DD in the town of Wilson; Highway Q west of Highway XX in the town of Ludington; Highway G from near Channey Road to Highway DD in the town of Ludington; and Highway QQ at its intersection with Highway L in the town of Seymour.
The two one-way stretches in the town of Seymour are Highway P west of 67th Avenue, and Highway UN west of Vance Road.
The county Highway Department has placed barricades at each end of the closures. Once the water has receded, repair work will begin but until it is completed, the restrictions will remain in effect.
A county Emergency Management Department press release exhorted drivers to stay off of flooded roadways and to respect the barricades.
