Fifteen robotics teams from three Eau Claire middle schools competed in the first-ever Blugold Beginnings Robotics Competition held recently at DeLong Middle School.
Other entries came from South and Northstar Middle Schools. (Additional photos of entrants in the competition can be found on the page where this account continues, inside the website.)
The event was won by a team from South Middle School, pictured on the home page. Team members were Harper Nordin, Connor Anderson and Michael Seichter, shown sharing information about their winning entry with competition judges Wesley McDermott, Kim Pierson and Malissa Zaleski.
Each team, working with its University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire mentor, designed and programmed a robot to compete in the event. Funding for the program was provided by 3M Gives, and Chippewa Falls-based Northwestern Bank and TTM Technologies.
