“Mom and Me,” a support group for survivors of domestic violence, is meeting every Thursday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. through Aug. 25 at the Family Support Center in Chippewa Falls.
The eight sessions are free and confidential, and are open to mothers and youth of all ages who have been affected by family violence. Advance registration is required 24 hours ahead of each session, to allow preparation time for snacks, activities and childcare.
Additional information and registration are available by calling 715-723-1138.
The program aims to strengthen connections between mothers and children who have been the victims of domestic violence. Families can attend as many of the eight sessions as desired.
The sessions will seek to develop creative coping skills to deal with family violence, and will work to develop and strengthen parent-child relationships.
The Family Resource Center aims to empower individuals, families and communities to live free from domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and interpersonal violence. It works through education, prevention and intervention to reach these goals.
