Free Speech Week at UW-Stout will offer virtual programs this afternoon, Tuesday and Wednesday – Chippewa Valley Post
Free speech, academic freedom, cancel culture and the pros and cons of banning hate speech will all be addressed during Free Speech Week programs hosted by University of Wisconsin-Stout’s Menard Center for the Study of Institutions and Innovation (MCSII). Virtual events for Free Speech Week are scheduled for today through Wednesday (Oct. 19- 21), from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. each day. The Free Speech Week events are particularly important now because the topic currently is hotly contested and in the news, said MCSII Director Tim Shiell, who will host all three events.
