Three UW-Eau Claire political scientists will discuss the complexities of the presidential impeachment process in a panel discussion at 3 p.m. next Monday (Dec. 9).
The program on “Impeachment: Congress, the President and the Constitution” will be held in Room 1204 of Centennial Hall on UW-EC’s lower campus. The event is free and the public is invited.
The discussion is intended to help audience members learn more about the ongoing impeachment inquiry aimed at President Donald Trump, according to a UW-EC press release.
The Political Science faculty members on the panel will be Prof. Michael Fine, Associate Prof. Eric T. Kasper and Prof. Geoff Peterson, who chairs the Political Science department. Kasper is also the director of UW-EC’s Center for Constitutional Studies.
They will discuss what the U.S. Constitution says about impeachment and the politics of the current impeachment inquiry
The event is sponsored by the Center for Constitutional Studies and the university’s Pre-Law Club. More information is available from Kasper at kasperet@uwec.edu.
