Wisconsin's rural hospitals surviving pandemic better than those elsewhere, but danger signals remain as COVID-19 surges – Chippewa Valley Post
By Parker Schorr, Wisconsin Watch Rural hospitals in Wisconsin are faring better than in most states but a significant number — roughly one-third — remain underwater financially. And the COVID-19 surge that is swamping many urban hospitals in Wisconsin could also overwhelm rural health care facilities, according to Tim Size, executive director of the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative. The state Department of Health Services (DHS) reported another record daily high Thursday for confirmed new COVID-19 cases, when 3,747 people tested positive according to UpNorthNews.
