UW-Eau Claire students, faculty members and student organizations will collaborate Sunday in an effort to interest area children in the four STEM subjects – science, technology, engineering and math.
The “Kids in STEM” science fair is scheduled to run from 1 to 4 p.m. on the second floor of McIntyre Library, on the UW-EC campus. The free event, open to the community, is geared toward children in grades 3 through 7 and their families. It is aimed especially toward young girls who, as a group, haven’t shown great interest in these fields in the past.
The fair will include experiments, games and demonstrations with the common focus on STEM subjects. Snacks will be provided as part of the program.
The event will be hosted by the Mortar Board Gold Caps Chapter, an honor society at UW-Eau Claire.
