The U. S. Supreme Court Wednesday ruled that the First Amendment classifies teachers of religion at Catholic parochial schools as “ministers” and, therefore, they may not sue their employers for workplace discrimination.
In an email interview with the CVPost, Eric Kasper, a professor of political science and director of the UW-EC Center for Constitutional Studies, commented on these decisions and another significant case that was decided Monday.
He also noted three major cases dealing with the release of President Donald Trump’s tax returns. The Court has announced that it will hand down those decisions today.
