Today has been designated worldwide as International Overdose Awareness Day, with a goal of raising awareness of the drug overdose problem and reducing the stigma of drug-related deaths.
It will be a day of remembrance for families and friends impacted by drug overdose, according to a press release from the City-County Health Department.
In Wisconsin, 1,171 people died from drug overdoses in 2017.
