Small weekly papers shared the national spotlight with the giants of the newspaper industry in last Thursday’s coordinated publication of editorials challenging President Donald Trump’s repeated attacks on the news media. Chippewa Valley newspapers were part of Thursday’s national editorial response to Trump’s attacks on press
Chippewa Valley newspapers participated in Thursday’s coordinated national effort to respond through editorials to the barrage of attacks unleashed on them by President Donald Trump and others who use the press as a convenient target when its coverage is not to their liking. The goal for Thursday was for as many U.S. newspapers as possible to write and publish editorials that denounce what The Boston Globe called “a dirty war against the free press.”
