Last month’s approval of severe restrictions on abortions by five states drew predictable responses from local campus advocates on both sides of this issue.
The reactions came against the backdrop of Wisconsin legislation that was less extreme. The state Senate last week approved four anti-abortion bills and sent them to Gov. Tony Evers, who has said he would veto them.
The Assembly approved the bills in May. Only one of them goes as far as the new legislation elsewhere.
