The Chippewa Valley Post will be one of more than 40 organizations participating in Saturday’s Community Block Party presented by United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley.
The free event is scheduled for Irvine Park in Chippewa Falls, and will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will feature free games, prizes and entertainment onstage and throughout the Block Party area.
Information aimed at promoting health and improved quality of life will be available from the various participating organizations. Those groups will range from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Wisconsin to the Altoona and Chippewa Falls public libraries to the Chippewa Valley Free Clinic and Western Dairyland’s housing program, along with more than 35 others.
Free face painting will be available in exchange for prize tickets, and costumed characters from favorite children’s stories will roam the grounds, courtesy of the Eau Claire Children’s Theatre. Food and snack items will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds going to support United Way.
