The Dunn County Health Department has issued an alert regarding potential exposure to COVID-19 by anyone who used a local taxi service within the Menomonie city limits on the evenings of July 28 and 29.
A health department press release didn’t name the taxi company, identifying it only as a “local taxi service within Menomonie city limits that only accepts cash.” It noted that anyone who used this taxi service on either of those evenings and who is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should get tested for possible coronavirus infection.
The Health Department will continue to alert the public via Facebook and a press release when there have been instances of potential exposure, according to the press release. That includes people who have been within six feet of a confirmed COVID-19 case for at least 15 minutes as well as potentially exposed individuals who cannot be identified or contacted.
COVID-19 symptoms include cough, fever, sore throat, headache, body or muscle aches, chills, fatigue, vomiting or new loss of taste or smell, according to the Health Department. Further information is available from K. T. Gallagher, Health Department director.
