Space is still available for anyone who wants to take part in Monday’s final group opportunity for members of the public to provide input about United Way’s goals and upcoming strategic planning efforts.
The last of four such public input sessions scheduled by United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today (March 14) at Leinie Lodge, 124 E. Elm St., Chippewa Falls. Registration for the event can be completed here.
Last-minute walk-ins are also welcome, according to Andy Neborak, United Way’s executive director.
These community conversations started with an in-person session on Mar. 1 that was followed two days later by a pair of Zoom discussions. At each session, participants are divided into small groups for guided conversations.
Neborak told the CVPost in an email that United Way sent invitations to a wide range of people in Eau Claire and Chippewa Counties, and received responses from just over 100 of them.
“While the majority of our attendees are from Eau Claire or Chippewa Falls, there was also some representation by rural communities” in the two counties, he said, with women outnumbering men by just over a two to one ratio.
“A survey will be sent out electronically to nearly 15,000 on our email list as an alternate way to provide feedback,” he added.
“Our community conversations are held every three years to gain honest and unbiased feedback from the community about the work we do,” Neborak said.
The community feedback will be analyzed and then used by United Way’s board, staff and Advisory Council chairs during the organization’s strategic planning process in May, he said.
“This insight will strengthen our strategic process,” he added.
