A free three-hour workshop to help high school students prepare for the ACT College Admissions Test is scheduled for next Sunday (Jan. 20) at the L. E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire.

The workshop will be presented by Ruth Harris, director of the Northwest Reading Clinic in Eau Claire. She will discuss some specific strategies relevant to the ACT test, including basic test-taking skills, analysis of directions, pacing, essay writing and when and what to “guess.”
The workshop will be held in the Eau Claire room on the library’s lower level. Participants should bring a notebook and pencil. Light refreshments will be served.
The ACT is a national college admissions exam that consists of subject area tests in English, mathematics, reading and science. Its results are accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in the United States.
