Two multi-week workshops focused on living well despite chronic medical conditions will be offered in September and October in Bloomer and Menomonie.
The free workshops will meet weekly from 5:30 to 8 p.m., for six weeks in Bloomer and seven weeks in Menomonie. Advance registration is required at both locations by early September.
The workshops will be provided by the Mayo Clinic Health System and the Aging and Disability Resource Centers of Chippewa and Dunn Counties. They are intended for people who have a chronic medical condition or who live with someone who does.
Such conditions include diabetes, heart disease, arthritis or other long-term health problems. The workshops will provide information on managing these various medical conditions in order to “maintain an active and fulfilling life,” according to a Mayo press release.
The Bloomer workshops will be held on Wednesdays, beginning on Sept. 12 and running through Oct. 17. They will be held in the lower level conference room at Mayo’s facility at 1501 Thompson St. in Bloomer. The registration deadline is Sept. 5
The workshops in Menomonie will be held on Mondays at the public library, 600 Wolske Bay Rd., from Sept. 10 through Oct. 22. The registration deadline for these sessions is Sept. 4.
Registrations for either location can be completed online through the Classes & Events page at www.mayoclinichealthsystem.org, or by calling (toll-free) 1-866-375-7464.
