If you run into jugglers in downtown Eau Claire Friday afternoon or evening, you will have come across part of the action in the sixth annual “UW Meets EC” event.
The event will run from 4:45 to 8:30 p.m. It aims to introduce new students at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire to businesses, parks and various other attractions in the city’s downtown area. In addition to the jugglers, campus vocal groups will perform and there will be food trucks, caricature artists, t-shirt printing and henna artists as part of the event.
It is expected that many businesses and organizations will offer the touring students free samples, discounts and coupons for future purchases.
Students will catch shuttle buses outside Towers Hall on the UW-EC campus starting at 4:45 p.m. and will be taken downtown for walking tours that will leave Phoenix Park and wend their way through the downtown area. The walks will end at Owen Park, where live music will be featured.
The shuttle buses from the campus will stop running at 7 p.m. Students will make their own way back to the campus.
