Gardeners wishing to see more fauna in their flora may want to check out a a pair of upcoming program at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire.
“Gardening for Wildlife” will be presented by Bill Hogseth on Tuesday, March 29, at 1 p.m. and repeated at 7 p.m. that evening. The program, in the Eau Claire Room on the library’s lower level, is co-sponsored by the Eau Claire Garden Club.
Hogseth is a wildlife biologist for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. His programs are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Participants will learn how to create benefits for wildlife in their backyards using native plant species. In his presentation, Hogseth will discuss the life-cycles of native wildlife, with an emphasis on birds, and how residential landscapes can help meet habitat needs.
