An informational meeting about the new Eau Claire Virtual School will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the L. E. Phillips Memorial Public Library.
The Eau Claire Area School District (ECASD) created the school to provide a flexible and personalized learning experience for students. For the 2019-2020 school year, the school will be open to 28 students in grades 6 through 12. They will be selected through a lottery process.
The deadline to apply for inclusion in the lottery is 4 p.m. on May 31. The drawing will be held at 4 p.m. on June 3 at the ECASD office, 500 Main St. Families who applied are welcome to attend, or can stream the drawing live from the ECASD website (www.ecasd.us).
Applications can be completed in person at the district office, online at www.ecasd.us/enrollment or by contacting the Enrollment Office at 715-852-3063 to request an application, and then mailing it in.
All families that apply will get a follow-up letter in early June. Further information is available from Dave Oldenberg, ECASDs director of academic services, at 715-852-3034.
