The special legislative session called to reform the state’s welfare system and other recent legislation affecting western Wisconsin will be discussed on The West Side on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. on 88.3 WHWC-FM/ Menomonie-Eau Claire and 88.7 WRFW-FM/ River Falls.
State Representative Romaine Quinn (R-Barron) and State Senator Janet Bewley (D-Delta) will join host Rich Kremer to talk about proposals regarding welfare reform. On Jan. 18, Governor Scott Walker asked lawmakers to take up bills that could change the programs, including requiring parents to work in order to receive food stamps.
