Prevea Health will host a free program to help participants end nicotine use, starting later this month.
Space is limited, and registration is required by Jan. 15. The eight-week cessation program will run from 1 to 2 p.m. on Fridays, from Jan 24 through March 13.
Classes will take place in the Prevea Medical Services Building, located at 2449 County Hwy I, Chippewa Falls. To register, call (902) 272-1116.
The program’s classes will be led by Dara Specker, Prevea Health and Wellness coach, and will cover a variety of topics.
Those will include barriers and motivations to quitting nicotine; resources and medications available to help achieve this goal; mental and physical preparation for quitting nicotine; putting an “active plan” into place; healthy lifestyles; and relapse prevention.
“This program is a great resource, especially for anyone making it a resolution to stop smoking and quit nicotine in the New Year,” Specker said in a press release. “Quitting is possible. It doesn’t matter if you have tried to quit one time or 100 times. You can still be successful and we are here to help.”
