Public input to a coordinated five-year public transit-human services plan can be offered at a June 27 meeting at the Eagles Club, 2588 Hallie Rd. in Chippewa Falls.
The hearing is being conducted by the Eau Claire County Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC). It is scheduled to run from 2 to 4 p.m.
Members of the public are invited to share their thoughts about public transportation for seniors and persons with disabilities, according to a press release from the ADRC.
The transit-human services plan is required for a county to qualify for transportation grants through both state and federal programs. The federal program, the 2015 Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, was the first federal legislation in over a decade to provide long-term funding for surface transportation infrastructure planning and investment.
The coordinated plan will cover the five-year period from 2019 to 2023 and is intended to help improve public transportation for senior citizens and people with disabilities.
People who would like to provide input to this plan, but are unable to attend the meeting, can contact Emily Gilbertson, ADRC manager, via email at emily.gilbertson@co.eau-claire.wi.us or by phone at 715-839-1272.
