Two opportunities to donate blood – one at each location – have been scheduled by the American Red Cross at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls and HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
St. Joseph’s will host
its blood drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25 in McDonald Hall,
2661 County Hwy I. To schedule an appointment, call 1-800-733-2767 or visit www.RedCrossBlood.org
and enter “St. Josephs” (no apostrophe).
The Sacred Heart blood drive is scheduled for Wednesday, Mar. 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Monsignor Klimek Auditorium, 900 West Clairemont Ave. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 1-800-733-2767 or by visiting www.RedCrossBlood.org and entering “Sacred Heart Hospital.”
“There’s always a great need for whole blood from healthy donors,” according to a press release from the two hospitals, which are sponsored by Hospital Sisters Ministries. “It’s a valuable resource that’s in short supply.”
To speed up the process, prospective donors can visit www.redcrossblood.org/RapidPass to complete their health history before coming in to donate. This should be done on the day of the appointment to donate.
Eligible donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health and feeling well on the day of their appointment.
