It’s Labor Day and we’re six months into the pandemic.
My usual Monday labors continue:
Got bills paid, mail read and a couple gifts ordered online.
Ordered groceries online with the help of a friend who could tell me what the broccoli salad with cranberries looked like.
Emptied the dishwasher and used the washer and dryer – grumpily at first because I have to work on Labor Day, but eventually thankfully realizing how much labor these machines save me.
Checked on a few folks who are alone today and talked about “Stayin’ Alive” in the “New Normal.”
Then I played a game of Scrabble with myself so I could report my team’s performance for the Scrabble Bee for Literacy Chippewa Valley (we raised $3,065 for this good cause).
Finally, I consulted with a sighted friend to create an ad for my new book that will look good on computers and iPhones. I hope we succeeded.
So the labors continue during the pandemic, just a little more complicated. But the new book gives me great Caws for Celebration!
Note: The ad for Kathie’s book calls it a “memoir of seven years of aging and advocating told in blogs.” Its various chapters include such topics as “What If Wonder Woman had a Disability” and “Sighted People Are Strange.”
