“The West Side,” Wisconsin Public Radio’s weekly call-in show focused on western Wisconsin issues, has changed time slots as of last Friday (Mar. 20).
The hour-long program will now be broadcast at 10 a.m. on Fridays rather than at the same time on Mondays. It can be heard on The Ideas Network stations 88.3 WHWC/ Menomonie-Eau Claire and 88.7 WRFW/ River Falls.
Dean Kallenbach, host and producer of “The West Side,” said the move aligns the show with other weekly programs on The Ideas Network.
“Fridays are special on The Ideas Network,” Kallenbach said. “’The Morning Show’ has Wisconsin Weekend, ‘On Point’ has its Week in the News, Larry Meiller does ‘Garden Talk,’ we carry ‘Science Friday,’ and ‘Central Time’ has its Food Friday segment. Now, just in time for spring, ‘The West Side’ will be a part of that lineup.”
Kallenbach said the show’s content will remain focused on civil conversations about issues that are important to western Wisconsin residents. The topic of the first Friday edition of “The West Side” was the $48.8 million April referendum that would fund improvements on the campuses of Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC).
The measure will be on the Apr. 7 ballot in 11 west-central Wisconsin counties. CVTC President Bruce Barker was Kallenbach’s guest on the Mar. 20 program.
