Registration is still open for the series of four community conversation sessions that United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley will sponsor in the first half of March in an effort “to get unbiased and widespread feedback” on the organization’s goals and upcoming activities.
Andy Neborak, United Way’s executive director, added in an email to the CVPost that the feedback will be used “to further engage the community, find new partners, develop strategies and mobilize resources” as it looks to the future.
“United Way leadership will analyze this feedback and use it as one of many tools to guide us in our strategic planning process to take place later this spring,” Neborak wrote. “In order to best serve our community, we feel an important first step is to listen to those who live in the Chippewa Valley.”
The series of conversations will get underway on Tuesday (Mar. 1) with an in-person session from 5:30 to 7:30 at Leinie Lodge, 124 E. Elm St., Chippewa Falls. A pair of two-hour Zoom conversations – at noon and 5:30 p.m. – are scheduled for Thursday (Mar. 3) and the series will conclude with a second in-person session on Mar. 14, again at 5:30 p.m. at Leinie Lodge.

Neborak said that just over 100 people have registered to participate but that more could be accommodated, including “walk-ins if they’re able to come last minute.”
Invitations went to representatives of nonprofit organizations, city and county leaders, current and past donors and non-donors, he said. In addition, some 20 volunteers will facilitate the small group discussions and take notes, he said.
Additional participants are welcome for any of the four sessions, he said, particularly from people who would add to the diversity of perspectives represented in the conversations.
“We’re always looking to add under-represented groups to diversify our feedback,” Neborak said. “Specifically, I would say we could use additional attendance from minority race or ethnic backgrounds.”
