Two UW-Eau Claire alumni will be featured here next week in a pair of free programs that focus on the field of human-centered design and why it matters.
Kate and Tom Gomoll of Gomoll Research + Design in Milwaukee will introduce their topic with a talk from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26 at CoLab, 312 S. Barstow St. in Eau Claire. They will lead a workshop on human-centered design from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the following day, also at CoLab.
Both events are open to the public, but advance registration is required. It can be completed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MPCNLH6.
On Thursday evening, the Gomolls will talk about how they first got into human-centered design and why that field is important. They will describe their path from the time they were UW-EC students to being early user experience leaders at Apple to creating their own company in Milwaukee.
The Friday workshop will provide hands-on experience through exercises in the human-centered design process. These will include step-by-step guidelines, and examples drawn from the Gomolls’ experience.
In addition to Milwaukee, the firm has offices in Minneapolis and Philadelphia.
