The rescheduled annual meeting of Valley Media Works (VMW) will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14 in the Gillette conference room at Banbury Place.
All other details remain as originally planned for last Thursday, when adverse weather conditions forced the meeting to be postponed. The public is invited to attend both the meeting and an informal potluck supper that will precede it at 5:30 p.m.
The conference room is on the fourth floor of Building D2 at Banbury Place, 800 Wisconsin St. Anyone interested in attending can RSVP here.
Members of VMW’s staff and board of directors will be available at the potluck to answer questions about what the organization does and what plans are in process for the future. The annual meeting will feature presentations from Jerry Barton, VMW’s executive director, and from board members.
Valley Media Works, formerly Chippewa Valley Community TV, is working on a move to the former city of Eau Claire fire station at Birch Street and Hastings Way. Its office is currently located in Suite 405A on the fourth floor of Building 2D at Banbury Place, and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
VMW has provided opportunities for some 40 years for the community to share information, ideas and talent on two Charter cable system channels as well as through its own low-power radio station WRFP (101.9 on the FM dial) and online. It offers opportunities for community members to learn and practice videography, film-making, lighting, journalism and marketing,
Channel 993 on the Charter system is available for anyone wishing to produce programming for the community. Channel 994, the government channel, provides broadcasts of meetings of the Eau Claire City Council and Plan Commission, the Eau Claire County Board and the Eau Claire Area School District Board. That programming is also simulcast on WRFP.
