Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) this week will host the second of two live broadcast debates featuring the four candidates seeking their party’s nomination for Wisconsin’s 3rd District seat in the House of Representatives.
The programs are part of WPR’s 2020 election coverage, The primary election is Aug. 11.
The debate featuring the candidates in the Democratic primary will be broadcast on The Ideas Network next Thursday (Aug.6). It will be heard from 10 to 11 a.m.
The two Republican primary candidates — Derrick Van Orden from Hager City and Jessi Ebben from Eau Claire — made their debate appearance on Friday (July 31).
Thursday’s debate will feature Democratic primary candidates Ron Kind, the incumbent, and Mark Neumann, both from La Crosse. Ezra Wall, host of WPR’s “Newsmakers,” will moderate the program.
The debates are being broadcast live on 12 WPR stations. These include FM stations 90.3 La Crosse, 88.3 Menomonie-Eau Claire and 88.7 River Falls. The debates are also being streamed on wpr.org through a partnership with the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce and WIN Technology of Eau Claire.
